If so, then we have got you covered, RV owners! Come and take a look at our Natural and Organic RV Mattresses! These all-foam wonders feature organic Dunlop latex foam layers, natural New Zealand wool, and organic cotton, offering an unparalleled balance between plushness and firmness.
Obtained in an organic manner from Sri Lanka, manufactured to the highest organic standard (≥95%), and certified safe for human health, our RV latex mattresses triumph over other mattresses like memory foam, especially when it comes to eco-friendliness, cooling, support, and cushioning!
And to top it all off, you'll be buying from Turmerry, a company that vehemently stands for fair trade practices and cruelty-free manufacturing alongside the health of Mother Earth. So you'll have peace of mind knowing you're supporting a business that takes its environmental and social impact seriously. To back up our claims, we also plant a tree for every purchase of yours!
Turmerry Natural and Organic RV Mattresses contain organic latex at their core. Latex is liquid rubber that we harvest in a sustainable manner from rubber trees in Sri Lanka. We then manufacture it into foam layers through the Dunlop method, which ensures a firmer mattress surface for proper spine support.
But don't worry about it being too firm because latex has an inherent softness that allows it to conform very well to your body's contours. This provides pressure relief and cushioning akin to what you'd get from a gel-memory foam or traditional memory foam mattress (but without any of their drawbacks, of course!)
Our wonderful Dunlop latex is then enriched with the fire-resisting and temperature-regulating properties of a natural New Zealand wool layer. Then, all of it is encased in a smooth, breathable cover made of organic cotton.
The combination of these high-quality RV mattress materials creates a sleep space that can comfortably accommodate every sleeping position, including side sleepers, back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and combination sleepers. Moreover, they're ideal for almost every sleeper type, including hot sleepers, light sleepers, heavy sleepers, and more!
Worried about our RV mattresses not fitting your RV? Don't worry! We've got more than one option regarding RV mattress size, height (thickness), and firmness.
Full XL is the perfect mattress size for single individuals to sleep comfortably. Not only does it offer 54 inches of width but also 80 inches of length. The 54-inch width gives you enough space to move around during the night, ensuring you don't feel cramped. And with 80 inches in length, the Full XL can also accommodate taller individuals (above 6 ft.), allowing you to enjoy a good night's sleep without worrying about your feet hanging over the edge!
Got a large RV and a sleeping partner to go with? You'll love the RV Short Queen, then! Our RV short queen mattress is 60 inches wide and 75 inches long, making it much more spacious for couples than the Full XL option. The RV short queen mattress can also accommodate up to three children at once!
The RV Short King is currently our largest size offering, with 72 inches in width and 75 inches in length. This behemoth best suits RVs with a king-size bed slide-out, fifth-wheel trailers, or large travel trailers that can accommodate it comfortably. And in turn, it will accommodate you comfortably! The RV short king's extra width over the RV short queen enables it to hold up to four children, a couple and a dog, or a family with a young child!
The soft option offers a cozy and gentle feel, combining plushness with support. It's a good fit for those who prefer a cushioned sleeping surface, such as thin sleepers, lightweight sleepers, and side sleepers.
The medium firmness balances softness and support, catering to various sleep preferences. If you’re a restless sleeper who moves around a lot or a combination sleeper who switches sleeping positions occasionally, the medium-firm RV mattress is for you.
The firm option is engineered for stability and proper spinal alignment. It's designed to alleviate pressure points for a solid sleep experience and, as such, works well for heavyweight sleepers who prefer sleeping on their backs or stomachs.
For those seeking strong support, the extra-firm choice delivers a very firm sleep surface, catering to individuals who prioritize a sturdy feel. This option is ideal for those who require maximum support and prefer sleeping on a mattress with minimal sinkage.
The 8-inch mattress height suits lightweight and average-weight sleepers weighing below 230 lbs. It offers sufficient cushioning and adequate support for side, back, and stomach sleepers.
The 10-inch mattress height is recommended for heavy-weight sleepers (above 230 lbs.) and average-weight sleepers (around 230 lbs.) who want extra cushioning. The extra 2 inches of cushioning offered by this mattress height allows for better comfort and support, helping prevent excessive sinkage.
Indulge in unparalleled comfort as our latex mattresses provide a supportive yet plush sleep surface. Our Dunlop latex foam layers are highly responsive to your movements, so you don't feel stuck when moving around atop them. The quicker response also works wonders at adapting to your body's contours and supporting your spine's curve for a truly personalized sleep experience.
Crafted from high-quality, eco-friendly, and sustainable latex, our mattresses boast natural qualities and are free from harmful levels of chemicals, making them an environmentally conscious choice for your RV haven!
Enjoy a cool night's sleep as latex, thanks to its open-celled internal structure and perforated overall structure, naturally promotes airflow. Moreover, the layer of natural New Zealand wool we add is great at regulating temperature, helping you stay cool on warm nights and cozy on chilly evenings.
You can bid a soothing farewell to discomfort with the remarkable pressure-relieving prowess of latex. Its distinctive capability to conform seamlessly to your body's contours ensures a revitalizing sleep free from any persistent pressure point buildups.
Turmerry Latex RV Mattresses are designed to withstand the rigors of RV travel, harboring an estimated lifespan of around 15 to 20 years when maintained properly. Their exceptional durability helps maintain their integrity even on the bumpiest of roads.
With our RV mattresses, you can bid farewell to the concern of being disturbed by motion transfer. Our latex foam layers act as buffers, absorbing a significant portion of movements occurring on the mattress surface. In turn, this results in excellent levels of motion isolation, catering to light sleepers and those with partners who tend to toss and turn.
Our mattresses are engineered to provide consistent stability along the edges, ensuring that every inch of your sleep surface offers the same level of support. Perched on the edge of the mattress, you won't feel unsupported. Whether you're sitting, lying, or transitioning in and out of bed, our latex mattress provides rigid edge support to ensure that you enjoy a reliable sleep surface.
Explore an extensive array of firmness and height choices to discover the optimal match for your sleep preferences. Whatever your preferences, whether you prefer a firm, thick mattress as a back sleeper or a softer mattress as a side sleeper, we've got you covered.
Discover the convenience of our latex mattresses, thoughtfully crafted in various RV-friendly sizes to be effortlessly accommodated into your specific RV. From the spacious Full XL and couple-friendly RV Short Queen to the luxurious RV Short King, our range ensures a perfect match for your RV's sleeping area, creating a snug sleep setup that lets you (and your fellow travelers) rest easy.
By choosing Turmerry Latex RV Mattresses, you're not only making a wise investment in your sleep comfort, but you're also championing eco-friendly practices and contributing to a greener future. Our mattresses hold certifications from respected eco-friendly institutions, reflecting our commitment to producing environmentally responsible products.
Additionally, with every purchase, we plant a tree to support reforestation efforts. We actively encourage donation return processes to minimize greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. The assembly process for the Turmerry natural and organic RV mattress is very simple and will only take around 10-15 minutes. It comes in four separate boxes. So, first of all, make sure you receive all four boxes upon delivery.
Within the first box are a zippered organic cotton mattress cover and two free pillows. The second box should contain a firm latex foam layer. The third box should contain a medium latex foam layer. The fourth box should contain a soft latex foam layer.
Here’s how you can assemble the Turmerry RV mattress:
Step 1 - Place the organic cotton zippered cover on the bed frame.
Step 2 - Identify the base latex foam layer of your RV mattress.
Step 3 - Insert the next two latex foam layers, one at a time.
Step 4 - Zip it up.
Step 5 - Make the bed!
In case you still have questions about how to assemble it, we recommend checking out our 'Latex Mattress Assembly' guide, where we provide detailed mattress assembly instructions.
Make sure your mattress is protected by a waterproof mattress cover.
Make sure you air out your latex RV mattress at least once a month.
Dust, dirt, and other particles should be vacuumed off the mattress every few weeks.
Ensure that the mattress is rotated once a month from head to toe.
Soak up the spilled liquid, spray the affected area with a mixture of white distilled vinegar and water (or lemon juice), sprinkle some baking soda over the mattress, and let it rest in an area with ventilation.
Remove the baking soda with a vacuum after 8 hours, check for any odor or stain, and let the mattress dry entirely before using it again.
Avoid drying the latex RV mattress beneath direct sunlight.
Avoid using hydrogen peroxide or other harsh detergents.
Avoid using the latex RV mattress before it is completely dry.
Avoid machine-washing/hand-washing the latex foam layers and cotton cover.
Avoid using a dryer or exposing the mattress to high heat.
RVs often do need special mattresses that differ in size from standard mattresses. This is because RVs usually contain small, compact areas for bed placement compared to a regular bedroom in a house. These special mattresses are tailored to fit within the limited dimensions of RVs while being light, portable, and versatile for travelers. Regular mattresses, however, tend to be heavy, large, and hard to store, making them a better home mattress than an RV mattress.
You can buy regular mattresses for an RV, but there is no guarantee that they will suit your RV. We would recommend choosing from the many RV mattresses available today, such as RV bunk, RV twin, RV full, RV queen, RV king, and RV California king mattresses, that are designed to fit various RV sizes.
The difference between an RV mattress and a regular mattress lies in the mattress size aspect. Most RV mattresses are smaller than regular mattresses, as they are designed to fit the confined sleeping areas within recreational vehicles. In contrast, regular mattresses are designed for standard mattress sizes and room dimensions, which are typically larger than the constrained layout of an RV sleeping area.
The most common RV mattress sizes include RV bunk, RV queen, RV short queen, RV king, RV short king, and RV California king mattresses. Certain other sizes, such as full XL and twin XL, can also be used in many RVs. RV mattress sizes are usually smaller than traditional mattresses and are designed to fit various RV types.
For example, "RV bunk sizes", such as the RV bunk, RV short full, RV short queen, and RV short king, are ideal for bunk beds and smaller RVs. On the other hand, "RV king sizes", such as the RV king, RV short king, and RV California king, are best suited for king bed frames and bigger RVs.
To determine which RV mattress size will fit your RV, you should measure the current mattress and bedding compartment within it. Follow these steps:
Step 1 - Begin by checking with your RV manufacturer for the RV specifications, as these may indicate the mattress size you’ll need. Proceed to step 2 if you do not have RV specs.
Step 2 - Obtain a measuring tape. Measure the length, width, and thickness (height) of your current RV mattress and jot them down somewhere. Then remove the mattress from the bedding compartment.
Step 3 - Now measure the length, width, and depth of the bedding compartment where your new mattress will be placed.
Step 4 - If step 1 was a success, compare and verify your measurements with the information
on
the specs sheet provided by the manufacturer.
Step 5 - If step 1 wasn’t a success,
go
online and compare your measurements to standard RV mattress sizes, such as RV bunk, RV queen, RV king, etc.
Determine the closest match for your RV's sleep space.
Step 6 - Find a store near you that sells RV beds. Try out the RV mattress sizes that best suit your RV. Then go shopping online and see if you can get a better deal for a similar mattress size/model (which you most likely will).
Note: Make sure to properly measure the thickness (height) of your old RV mattress and the depth of the area where it sits. RVs tend to have limited vertical space, so a mattress that is too thick may not fit or may cause clearance issues.
RV mattress types can be classified into two categories - an “all-foam mattress” and a “spring mattress”.
All-foam mattresses are made of multiple foam layers, where the comfort layers, transition layer, and support core are all composed of foam. Spring-type RV mattresses also have comfort layers made of foam. However, they focus more on the support core, which is made of spring coils.
Prominent all-foam mattresses include latex and memory foam mattress types. Prominent spring mattresses include innerspring and hybrid mattress types.
A memory foam mattress is a synthetically enhanced version of polyurethane foam, making it more viscoelastic. Memory foam has the ability to mold to the shape of a person's body by absorbing body heat and body weight, thereby sucking sleepers into its embrace.
You'll find a memory foam mattress adapts to your body contours very well, making for a comfortable, albeit hot, night's sleep. Why hot? Because memory foam tends to retain body heat to conform better.
To offset this issue, variants like gel memory foam mattresses were introduced, where a cooling gel memory foam comfort layer would be placed atop the mattress. By being more responsive, a gel memory foam mattress can also offset the "sinking" feeling you get on a traditional memory foam mattress.
However, a gel-infused memory foam mattress, for all its benefits, is still made of synthetic substances. This can lead to issues like VOC off-gassing and flaring up of chemical sensitivities/allergies. For a more eco-friendly mattress material, we'd recommend latex.
A latex mattress contains natural latex foam layers, which are essentially liquid rubber converted into foam. The latex mattress type is typically sought out by those shunning the chemically rich memory foam and gel memory foam mattress types. Natural latex mattresses are often made from nature-derived renewable materials like latex, cotton, wool, etc.
Besides their eco-friendly, healthier composition, they also harbor benefits like responsiveness, pressure relief, spine support, breathable cooling, motion isolation, edge support, and durability. Unlike a traditional memory foam mattress, which sinks you into it, latex mattresses offer you more freedom of movement, akin to what you'd experience on a gel memory foam mattress. This responsiveness and bounce of latex are paired with a balance of pressure relief and firm spine support.
Latex is also highly durable and can last you around 15-20 years if maintained properly. Moreover, latex doesn't have to use any cooling gel memory foam to induce cooling, as it has an open-cell structure that allows unrestricted airflow. All of these benefits, along with a healthy dose of motion isolation and edge support, make a latex mattress an exciting proposition compared to a traditional memory foam mattress or gel memory foam mattress.
Innerspring mattresses make use of spring coils for support and additional firmness. The coils, which are usually Bonnell, offset, or pocketed coils, are wrapped in a thin layer of cushioning material for comfort. Innersprings are bouncy, breathable, firm, and supportive. They tend to lack pressure-relieving and motion-isolating properties, however, mostly because of the thinner comfort layers.
Hybrid mattresses implement spring coils as the support core but focus more on improving pressure relief by adding a thicker foam comfort layer. A hybrid mattress is typically made of higher quality materials than a traditional innerspring, making it more expensive.
Nowadays, a luxury hybrid mattress is often fitted with pocketed coils in the support core and latex/memory foam in the comfort layers. You get a medium-firm feel from most hybrids, where the springs provide support and bounce while the foam provides contouring and pressure relief.
Finding the best RV mattress requires quite a bit of research on your end, as it mostly depends on personal preference and surroundings. Consider factors like your sleeping position, ideal temperature, health conditions, budget, sleep partners, etc.
For example, stomach sleepers would be better off sleeping on a firm or medium-firm mattress compared to a side sleeper who finds a soft mattress suitable. Another example is hot sleepers, who find a breathable, cooling latex mattress more ideal than a heat-retaining memory foam mattress.
Go to a few mattress stores nearby, try out various mattress types from various mattress companies, and create a list of the best quality RV mattresses you like most. Make a comparison between all of your mattress choices, choose the best RV mattress that suits your needs, and then buy it online.
We recommend an online mattress purchase over an in-store mattress purchase because, online, you can often find better sales and discounts that surpass what in-store mattress companies offer.
Bedding accessories are crucial to completing the setup of new mattresses. Here are some ideal bedding accessories you can fit in an RV setting:
Pillows and cushions can add a touch of hominess to the RV bed during the day and a lot of comfort during the night. Just be mindful of the number of pillows, as space is often limited in RVs.
A mattress topper is a layer of foam or fill material that helps change the feel of the mattress. Adding a mattress topper to your RV mattress can usually enhance comfort and durability, as it absorbs most of the initial wear and tear.
A reliable mattress base, such as a platform bed frame, slatted mattress foundation, or box spring, can make the RV mattress more supportive and comfortable while also improving its lifespan. On the other hand, there is the bunk bed frame, which allows for space-saving. So, choose a mattress base/bed frame that best suits your needs as RV owners.
Regular-sized bed sheets and protector covers might not fit well on RV beds, so look for ones that are specifically designed for RV mattress sizes. These will have the right dimensions and corners to fit snugly. We'd also recommend looking for a machine-washable cover/sheet for easier maintenance.
Your natural and organic RV mattress comes with a 20-year warranty that starts the day your order is processed. Additionally, we provide a 30-120 day trial period, allowing you to test out the mattress for a long time!
It's crucial to understand what you're getting into before choosing a product you'll use for a third of your life. As such, we ask that you try out our RV mattress for at least 30 days before requesting a refund/exchange.
You can place a return request for your RV mattress anytime after 30 days from our delivery date, and you have a window of up to 120 days from our delivery date to make that decision.
If, after 30 days and before 120 days, you still find the mattress to be unsuitable, we'll ask you to go through a local donation process to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that arise from shipping. Please contact us first, as some simple steps need to be taken for this.
Note: If you choose to return or donate your mattress before the 30-day waiting period, if you cancel an order after it has shipped, or if you refuse the delivery, store credit will be issued instead of a refund.
