Cooler Than Memory Foam Pillows - Improved Airflow Prevents Overheating - Sleeps Cool

    Cooler Than Foam

Our latex foam has a naturally open-cell structure that allows air to move freely. Combined with carefully placed perforations, this pillow has enhanced breathability, which dissipates heat and moisture more efficiently, keeping you comfortably cool throughout the night.

Organic Dunlop Latex - Certified Natural Material - Safe for Human Health as Nature Intended - No Polyurethane Foam

    Organic Dunlop Latex

Latex is a milky white sap tapped from rubber trees. That sap gets whipped, poured into molds, and baked using the Dunlop method - a process that gives our pillows their dense, supportive feel. Compared to Talalay latex, Dunlop is firmer and requires less energy to produce. Its higher density also makes it more durable. And because we use GOLS-certified organic latex, you're getting a material that’s not just comfortable, but also clean and sustainable, making it better for the planet from start to finish.

Organic Cotton Casing - Standard Pillowcase with White Features - Comfortable Texture - Zippered

    Organic Cotton Casing

For touch and texture, we wrap our eggcrate contour pillows in the finest organic cotton casing (zippered for convenience). And yes, it’s fully organic. Every step of the process, from planting and growing to harvesting and processing, follows strict organic standards. By avoiding toxic herbicides, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers, these farming methods support healthier soil, safer conditions for farm workers, lower water use, and a better end product for you.

Protect It with an Extra Pillow Cover

We recommend adding an extra pillow protector to keep your pillow even more secure, away from airborne impurities, allergens (like dust mites), liquid spills, and hard-to-remove stains. For the Eggcrate Contour Pillow, our top recommendation is the Organic Cotton Sateen Zippered Pillow Protector Cover. It's undyed and unbleached, made with soft 400 thread count sateen weave cotton.

Best Pairing - Turmerry Latex Mattresses

Looking to partner up our eggcrate contour pillow with a mattress? Look no further than our latex mattresses. We've got a wide collection - from all-foam to hybrid, DIY, Bigg+, and flippable designs. Every mattress uses natural latex foam, combined with top-notch organic materials like cotton, wool, and recycled steel. If you love our pillows, you're sure to love our mattresses.

    Pillow Care Instructions

Pro-Tip: Turmerry pillows are much easier to maintain if protected with an outer cover. We recommend using washable covers to make the maintenance process much easier for you.

Try these (they fit best!) -

Spot-clean in case of spillage - If you spill anything on the pillow, do not wash it in a machine, as it isn't machine washable. All you have to do is obtain a sponge and gently spot-clean the liquid-stained area with water and mild detergent. Make sure to fully dry it before putting the cover back on and resuming use.

Avoid long-term exposure to sunlight/heat - Our pillows should not be exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Exposure to severe heat above 85 degrees Fahrenheit should also be avoided. As the pillows are made from latex, excessive sunlight or heat can lead to a breakdown in the integrity of the material, reducing its lifespan.

Handle with care - If proper care isn't practiced when handling our pillows, they may rip or tear. Be gentle when taking them out of the packaging; place them with care on your mattress. They may also absorb dust/dirt easily, depending on where you live, and could become difficult to clean if left unprotected (without a cover).

Clean regularly - Vacuum the pillow's surface every month or so. Avoid eating and drinking on it, and spot-clean spills/stains immediately. All of these steps can lead to a long-lasting pillow.

    Eggcrate Latex Contour Pillow FAQS:

Latex is the white, milky sap harvested from rubber trees. It’s turned into foam and used in pillows, mattresses, mattress toppers, bedding, etc., for its comfort and durability. What makes latex stand out is that it’s a natural, renewable material, especially when it’s certified organic (by GOLS, OEKO-TEX). Rubber trees can be tapped for years without being cut down, which makes latex a more sustainable choice compared to synthetic foams made from petroleum.

The different types of latex are -

    • Natural Latex: Harvested from organically grown rubber trees (Hevea Brasiliensis), this type of latex is naturally processed to create foam layers.
    • Organic Latex: Organic latex is natural latex that comes with an organic seal of approval. Latex pillows that are organic contain ≥95% organic latex, the highest possible standard.
    • Synthetic Latex: Made from petroleum-based chemicals such as Styrene-Butadiene Rubber to mimic natural latex. It's usually cheaper but doesn't have the same durability or natural properties as the real thing.
    • Blended Latex: A combination of natural latex and synthetic latex. Blended latex pillows usually contain around 30% natural latex, with the rest being synthetic.

When someone says "latex," they're not necessarily talking about the natural stuff from rubber trees. It could be synthetic, blended, or natural - the term alone doesn't tell you much.

If a product is labeled "organic latex" or "natural latex," don't just take their word for it. Ask to see certifications that prove its purity. Companies that use genuine organic/natural latex are usually happy to display their certifications, as they take pride in the quality.

A regular contour pillow features a central dip, with raised edges on the front and back that follow the natural curve of your neck. Unlike flat pillows, it's designed to better adapt to the spine. The Eggcrate Contour Pillow follows this exact design and philosophy, but its surface is convoluted into an eggcrate pattern, which improves pressure relief by providing a passive massaging feel.

Yes, our eggcrate contour pillows have worked well for many people and continue to do so. They're specifically designed to follow the natural curves of your neck and help out with spinal alignment. Plus, the eggcrate surface just makes them even more comfortable to sleep on.

If you sleep on your side or back and find the standard pillow design too uncomfortable (e.g., causing neck pain, headaches, etc.), then an eggcrate contour pillow is the next step. That's what it's good for - being a different (and oftentimes better) alternative to the everyday pillow.

Think of the eggcrate contour pillow as having two gentle slopes (lower and higher) with a dip in the middle.

If you’re a back sleeper, your head rests right in that dip while the lower slope (4") supports the curve of your neck.

If you’re a side sleeper, place your head in the dip (same as with back sleeping), but rest your neck on the higher slope (5"), which fills the space between your shoulder and head.

Our eggcrate contour pillows can last 5+ years with good care. They don’t flatten out and lose shape the way cheaper synthetic pillows do. The natural resilience of latex keeps the pillow comfortable, night after night, without the early sag you get with most regular pillows.

No, don’t put your eggcrate contour pillow in the washing machine. Soaking it in water or tossing it in a wash cycle can damage the foam and break it down over time.

If it needs cleaning, spot-clean only. Here’s how -

Mix a little mild detergent with warm water. Dip a clean cloth/sponge in the solution, gently blot the stain, and avoid rubbing too hard. Then, use another damp cloth/sponge to wipe away any soap residue. Let the pillow air dry completely, but keep it out of direct sunlight.

To keep it cleaner longer, we recommend using a pillow protector.

It depends on what you like in a pillow. Shredded latex is made from very small pieces of latex foam, which makes the pillow more adjustable and moldable. You can fluff it, scrunch it, or even remove some fill to get the exact height and feel you want. It’s great if you like a softer, more customizable pillow.

Solid latex, on the other hand, gives you a more consistent feel. It’s bouncier and more responsive, and it tends to retain its shape better over time, which is ideal if you prefer a pillow that stays in place without shifting.

A Dunlop latex core and a Talalay latex core are made differently and feel different as a result. Dunlop latex is made by whipping natural rubber sap into a froth, pouring it into a mold all at once, and baking it. As it bakes, the heavier particles settle toward the bottom, which gives Dunlop a denser feel. It’s more energy-efficient and produces a durable foam that offers strong support, which is why we use it in our pillows.

Talalay latex goes through a few extra steps. After the sap is poured into the mold, it’s partially filled, then vacuum-sealed to evenly distribute the foam. It’s flash-frozen, then baked. This process creates a fluffier latex with soft density that feels more airy and plush. But it also takes more energy and resources to produce.

If you like more support and durability, a Dunlop latex pillow is the way to go. If you prefer more cushioning and consistency, a Talalay latex pillow might be more your style.

No. Our eggcrate contour pillow actually sleeps cool. Latex has an open-cell structure, which means air can move through it more freely than with dense, synthetic foams like memory foam. On top of that, we add small perforations throughout the pillow. This helps heat and moisture escape instead of getting trapped inside.

The pillow cover matters, too. Ours is made from breathable organic cotton, which doesn’t trap heat like polyester blends often do.

All in all, organic latex is temperature-neutral, which means it doesn’t overheat or feel too cold. It just stays comfortably cool throughout the night, especially compared to memory foam and other conventional pillows that trap body heat.

Yes. Eggcrate contour pillows provide ergonomic support that helps keep your head, neck, and shoulders in better alignment while you sleep. That means less pressure and strain, especially if you're already dealing with pain.

It’s not a cure, but a good eggcrate contour pillow creates the right environment, allowing your body to recover without making things worse.

In a lot of ways, yes. Latex eggcrate pillows are better at cooling, more responsive and supportive, and last longer than memory foam.

Memory foam eggcrate pillows tend to feel stuffy and slow to respond. They also hold onto heat, which can make you feel warmer at night.

Plus, if you go with organic latex, you’re avoiding the chemicals and synthetic materials found in memory foam, making it a healthier, more eco-friendly option overall.

When it’s brand new, you might notice a light, vanilla-like scent. That’s just the natural smell of latex. It’s not toxic or chemical like the scent of memory foam, and it usually fades within a few days. Just airing the pillow out for a bit will help it clear up faster.

An additional cover is optional, but we recommend adding one, yes. It helps protect your pillow from spills, stains, and everyday wear, keeping it fresher for longer. Go with something breathable, like an organic cotton cover or a bamboo cover, so you don’t lose that cool feel latex is known for.

Nope. The eggcrate contour pillow doesn’t need any fluffing. It’s a single solid piece of latex foam that holds its shape on its own. No squishing or refluffing needed.

Yes, no problem at all. Our eggcrate contour pillows work great on adjustable beds. They stay supportive whether you're lying flat or propped up. And they’re dense enough to hold their shape under a weighted blanket, without getting crushed.

Look for certifications that are trusted and verified. The big ones are -

    • GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard): This tells you the latex is organic and sustainably sourced.
    • GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): Covers the fabric, like organic cotton and wool, and ensures it’s processed without harmful chemicals.
    • eco-INSTITUT and GREENGUARD Gold: These make sure the pillow is low in VOCs and safe for indoor air quality.
    • OEKO-TEX Standard 100: Verifies that the materials are tested for harmful substances, even if they’re not organic.

If an eggcrate latex contour pillow has a mix of these, you’re getting one of the best there is.
