What makes latex stand out is that it’s a natural, renewable material, especially when it’s certified organic (by GOLS, OEKO-TEX). Rubber trees can be tapped for years without being cut down, which makes latex a more sustainable choice compared to synthetic foams made from petroleum.

The different types of latex are -

• Natural Latex: Harvested from organically grown rubber trees (Hevea Brasiliensis), this type of latex is naturally processed to create foam layers.
• Organic Latex: Organic latex is natural latex that comes with an organic seal of approval. Latex cushions that are organic contain ≥95% organic latex, the highest possible standard.
• Synthetic Latex: Made from petroleum-based chemicals such as Styrene-Butadiene Rubber to mimic natural latex. It's usually cheaper but doesn't have the same durability or natural properties as the real thing.
• Blended Latex: A combination of natural latex and synthetic latex. Blended latex cushions usually contain around 30% natural latex, with the rest being synthetic.

When someone says "latex," they're not necessarily talking about the natural stuff from rubber trees. It could be synthetic, blended, or natural - the term alone doesn't tell you much.

If a product is labeled "organic latex" or "natural latex," don't just take their word for it. Ask to see certifications that prove its purity. Companies that use genuine organic/natural latex are usually happy to display their certifications, as they take pride in the quality.

Unfortunately, no. Only the 20" x 20" x 4" (Standard Size) comes with a zippered cover as of now. The remaining seat cushion sizes do not include one.

No, don’t put your latex seat cushion in the washing machine. Soaking it in water or tossing it in a wash cycle can damage the foam and break it down over time.

If it needs cleaning, spot-clean only. Here’s how -

Mix a little mild detergent with warm water. Dip a clean cloth/sponge in the solution, gently blot the stain, and avoid rubbing too hard. Then, use another damp cloth/sponge to wipe away any soap residue. Let the cushion air dry completely, but keep it out of direct sunlight.

To keep it cleaner longer, we recommend using a protector cover.

For a seat cushion, no. Solid latex is the better choice. It provides the steady support needed to keep your hips lifted and upright.

Shredded latex is much softer and shifts around inside the cover. Because of that, it tends to sink more and won’t give you the stable base you need for sitting upright comfortably.

A Dunlop latex core and a Talalay latex core are made differently and feel different as a result. Dunlop latex is made by whipping natural rubber sap into a froth, pouring it into a mold all at once, and baking it. As it bakes, the heavier particles settle toward the bottom, which gives Dunlop a denser feel. It’s more energy-efficient and produces a durable foam that offers strong support, which is why we use it in our cushions.

Talalay latex goes through a few extra steps. After the sap is poured into the mold, it’s partially filled, then vacuum-sealed to evenly distribute the foam. It’s flash-frozen, then baked. This process creates a fluffier latex with soft density that feels more airy and plush. But it also takes more energy and resources to produce.

If you like more support and durability, a Dunlop latex cushion is the way to go. If you prefer more cushioning and consistency, a Talalay latex cushion might be more your style.

No, it won't. Latex has an open-cell structure, which means air can move through it more freely than with dense, synthetic foams like memory foam. On top of that, we add small perforations throughout the cushion. This helps heat and moisture escape instead of getting trapped inside.

The cover matters, too. Ours is made from breathable organic cotton, which doesn’t trap heat like polyester blends often do.

All in all, organic latex is temperature-neutral, which means it doesn’t overheat or feel too cold. It just stays comfortably cool throughout, especially compared to memory foam and other conventional cushions that trap body heat.
